  • Hey everybody!  Long time no see!  Just got back from a wonderful week in the mountains.  We stayed in our time share outside of Gatilnburg, Tennessee.  We went hiking, white water rafting, shopping, ate a ton of food, saw some bears, and then stopped by to see my mom and my sister for a few hours.  My auntie from Alabama was visiting my mom and she said she pops on here to see if I've updated.........well, we all know I never do........

I hiked an 8 mile waterfall called Ramsey Cascades BY MYSELF!!!!  Chris tried to go, but it was too hard so he let me go alone.  It took me 5 hours......it was the hardest thing I've ever done!  I was a little scared of a bear eating me out there!  hee hee

I have a few pictures to share with you....

Well, hope everyone is great.  It was so good to see my mom and my sis.  My mom looks waaaaayyyyy better than the last time I saw her and my sis just had her final surgery to get all put back together!

Got to get back on the wagon tomorrow.  Even though I hiked a ton, I ate more, so diet and exercise AGAIN starts tomorrow!

  • Hey everybody!   Just wanted to give you guys an update on my momma.  They have moved her to a regular room.  Still doing the plasmaphoresis and chemo on her.  Her kidney numbers are better and the lung doctor has released her.  Unfortunately, her red blood cells and platelets keep dropping, so that is the biggest problem right now.  Keep praying!!!

On other fronts, I have to work a double tomorrow.....boo....hiss!!!!  Won't get off until 10pm or so.

On other other fronts, me and Chris joined the gym.  I had my physical assessment yesterday.  Found out my cardio system is "well above average", my flexibility is "well above average", my hip to waist ratio is "average" and the rest needs some work!!  My body composition (fat to muscle) and upper body strength need some help.  So, I have a plan.  Then I got set up on the circuit training system so I can do strength training a couple of times a week.

Anyhoo.......hope everyone has a great week.  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

  • Talked to daddy and he said mom drank a little yesterday.  She is tolerating the plasma phoresis pretty well and she made it through her first day of chemo without much effect.  Seems to be now that they have pinpointed some kind of target to go after, that she is improving.  Keep praying for her and daddy.

I think I am going shopping for a new dress today.  I have gained some weight over the last couple of months and I need to find one that camoflages some bumps!!  hee hee

Anyhoo.......I will update you if the status changes. Thanks for the support and prayers.

  • My mama seems better today.   She has been a little more talkative (ornary)  and her color is better.  The treatments seem to be helping.  She needs another blood transfusion today, though.  She has had 6 pints already!  She is sad that I am leaving today.  I feel bad for her......poor thing.  I am just glad that she is feeling better than when I got here or I would be a mess having to leave her.

Hopefully daddy got some good rest while I was here so he can take over again!

Flying out today at 2:20 so pray for me...I hate to fly!

  • Well, here's the latest on my mom. She had a really bad day yesterday....Her blood pressure was outrageous, she was spitting up blood and her lungs were filling up with fluid. They had been putting off some treatments to try to determine exactly what she had, but they decided yesterday that they couldn't wait anymore.

What they've come up with is cryoglobulinemia from her Hep C. She has basically made antibodies to her own blood cells and platelets and is essentially attacking herself. They started a treament called plasma phoresis where they filter her blood and take all of her plasma away (because that is what has the antibodies in it) and then replace it with albumin. They will do this for seven days in a row and then evaluate her.

She hasn't been sleeping at night (which means I haven't either!), but she snoozes during the day. It's like having a new baby! hee hee. But she has been a little more talkative and fiesty today so I think she is feeling better. Just keep praying for her.

    See yall soon
